Flat Herringbone Stitch
Exiting from the top of the final bead in the ladder stitch, pick up two beads.
Pass down through the fifth bead of the ladder stitched row.
Pass back up through the fourth bead of the ladder stitched row.
Pick up two beads.
Stitch down through the third bead of the ladder stitched row.
Pass back up through the second bead of the ladder stitched row.
Pick up two beads.
Pass down through the first bead of the ladder stitched row.
Carefully pass the needle between the threads joining bead one and bead two of the ladder stitched row.
The working thread will loop around the joining thread between the beads.
Pass back up the first bead of the ladder stitched row and through the first bead of the herringbone row.
Pull snug, making sure the thread loop has caught at the bottom.

Pick up two beads and pass down through the second bead of row two.
Connect the second bead and third bead of row two by passing up through the third bead.
Pick up two beads.
Pass down through the fourth bead in the second row and pass up through the fifth bead in the second row.
Pick up two beads.
Pass down through the last bead in row two.
Pass the needle around the threads at the base of the last bead in row two.
The working thread will wrap around the thread bridge between the last bead in row two and the first bead of row one.
Pass back up the last bead in row two and the first bead of row three.
