Calico Corn Bracelet

1. Cut a five foot length of Miyuki nylon beading thread. String six Miyuki Berry beads (BB) in color A. Slide the beads to the far end of the thread, leaving an eight inch tail.

2. Moving from left to right pass back through the second to last BB bead added (on the needle end).

3. Pull to secure, bringing the last two beads together. This begins ladder stitch.

4. Pass back through the next BB to continue ladder stitch.

5. Pull to secure.

6. Continue in this way until the six beads are ladder stitched together. This completes the first row.

7. Loop back through the top two BB to anchor them into place.

8. To begin the next row string two BB in color A.

9. Pass through the second BB from the top in the previous row. This begins herringbone stitch.

10. Turn and pass through the third BB from the top in the same row.

11. String two BB in color B.

12. Pass through the fourth BB in the previous row.

13. Turn and pass through the fifth BB in the same row.

14. String two BB in color A and pass through the sixth BB in the previous row.

15. Pass the needle under the thread bridge connecting the fifth and sixth BB in the previous row.

16. Pass through the bottom BB in both rows.

17. String two BB in color C.

18. Pass through the fifth BB in the previous row.

19. Turn and pass through the fourth BB in the same row.

20. String two 3mm Swarovski crystal bicone beads.

21. Pass through the third BB in the previous row. Turn and pass through the second BB in the same row.

22. String two BB in color C.

23. Pass through the first BB in the previous row.

24. Pass the needle under the existing thread between the rows where the thread is exiting.

25. The working thread will catch on the existing thread. Pass through both BB on the outer edge of the last two rows.

26. Continue working in Herringbone stitch. In row four add two BB in color A, two BB in color B, and two BB in color A.

27. Repeat step 24.

28. Repeat step 25.

29. In row five add three pairs of BB in color A.

30. Repeat steps 24 and 25. In row six and add two BB in color B, two BB in color A, and two BB in color B.

31. Repeat steps 24 and 25. In row seven add two 3mm crystals, two BB in color C, and two 3mm crystals.

32. Repeat steps 24 and 25. In row eight add two BB in color B, two BB in color A, and two BB in color B. This completes one round of the eight row pattern.

33. Continue in herringbone stitch and follow the pattern from steps 1-32.

35. To secure the last row of Herringbone stitch join the beads together with ladder stitch. Pass through the second BB then loop back through the first. Continue through the second BB again and tighten.

36. Pass through the third BB then loop back through the second. Continue through the third BB again and tighten.

37. Continue in this way ladder stitching the BB in the last row together.

38. At the end of the row pass through the sixth BB and loop back through the fifth to exit.

39. String one 3mm crystal, pass through the lower loop of the clasp, and string one 3mm crystal.

40. Pass through the fourth BB in the last row.

41.Turn and pass through the fifth BB in the last row. Continue through the crystals and clasp to reinforce. Pass back through the fourth BB in the last row.

42. Turn and pass through the third BB in the same row.

43. String one 3mm crystal, pass through the upper loop of the clasp and string one 3mm crystal.

44. Pass through the second BB in the last row.

45. Turn and pass through the third BB in the last row. Continue through the crystals and clasp to reinforce. Pass back through the second BB. Reinforce the clasp as desired by following the established thread path.

46. Repeat steps 39-45 to attach the other side of the clasp to the first row of the bracelet. Make sure the clasp is facing right side up and can connect to the other side without twisting.
