1. Cut a three foot length of Wildfire .006. String two Miyuki 10/0 Triangle beads (TR10), two Miyuki 8/0 Triangle beads (TR8), and two TR10 beads. Slide the beads to the far end of the thread, leaving a twelve inch tail.
2. Pass back through the second to last bead on the needle end.
3. Pull thread to secure so that the beads lay side by side. This begins ladder stitch.
4. Pass back through the TR8 to the left to continue ladder stitch.
5. Pull thread to secure.
6. Continue in this way until all six beads are ladder stitched together. This completes row 1.
7. String two TR10 beads.
8. Pass down through the second bead to the right in row 1. Turn right and pass up through the third bead in row 1. This begins herringbone stitch.
9. String two TR8 beads.
10. Pass down through the fourth bead in row 1 and up through the fifth.
11. String two TR10 beads.
12. Pass down through the sixth bead in row 1. This completes row 2.
13. Pass the needle under the thread bridge connecting the fifth and sixth beads in row 1.
14. Pass up through the two TR10 beads at the end of rows 1 and 2.
15. String two TR10 beads. Moving from right to left pass down through the second bead and up through the third bead in row 2.
16. String two TR8 beads. Pass down through the fourth bead and up through the fifth bead in row 2.
17. String two TR10 beads. Pass down through the sixth bead in row 2. This completes row 3.
18. Pass the needle between the first and second beads in row 2.
19. Pass up through the two TR10 beads on the outer edge of rows 2 and 3. The working thread will catch on the existing thread, locking it into place.
20. Moving from left to right string two TR10 beads. Pass down through the next bead in row 3.
21. String one TR8.
22. Pass up through the TR8 to the right in row 3. This addition is an increase and the beadwork will begin to fan outwards.
23. String two TR8 beads. Pass down through the next bead to the right in row 3.
24. String one TR8. Pass up through the TR10 to the right in row 3.
25. String two TR10 beads. Pass down through the next bead to the right in row 3. This completes row 4.
26. Repeat steps 18 and 19 to step up for the next row.
27. Repeat steps 20-25. In steps 21 and 24 increase by adding two TR8 beads (instead of one). This completes row 5.
28. Repeat steps 18 and 19 to step up for the next row.
29. String one TR10. Pass down through the next TR10 to the right.
30. Increase by adding three TR8 beads and pass up through the TR8 to the right. String one TR10 and pass down through the TR8 to the right. Increase by adding three TR8 beads and pass up through the TR10 to the right.
31. String one TR10. Pass down through two TR10 beads on the outer edge. Lock the thread into place and pass back up through the two TR10 beads.
32. Turn the beadwork so that the twelve inch thread tail is now at the top. String a needle onto the thread tail.
33. Pass down through the TR10 to the left.
34. Pass the needle around the thread bridge connecting the first and second TR10 beads. Turn and pass up through the same TR10.
35. String two TR10 beads. Pass the needle under the thread bridge to the left.
36. Pass up through the second TR10 (of the two just added) and pull thread to secure.
37. String one TR10. Skip over one thread bridge and pass under the next. Continue up through the newly added TR10 and pull thread to secure.
38. String one TR10. Pass the needle under the thread bridge to the left. Continue up through the newly added TR10 and pull thread to secure.
39. String three TR10 beads and pass down through the third TR10 to the right.

49. Repeat steps 32-41.

52. Follow the diagrammed thread path to position the thread.
53. Place the medium beaded crest on top of the large crest. Pass through the single TR10 at the bottom of the medium crest.
54. Pass up through the TR8 to the left in the large crest. Follow the diagrammed thread path.
