Flat Brick Stitch
Pick up two beads and pass through the first bead again, creating a loop.
The beads will rest side by side once the thread is pulled tight.
Stitch down into the second bead.
Pick up one bead.
Stitch back down the second bead in the row to secure the new bead.
Stitch back up the third bead of the row.
Continue stitching in this manner until you have reached the desired length. Make sure your needle is exiting the last bead of the row.
Pick up two beads to begin row two. The needle will pass beneath the thread bridge that runs between the last bead of row one and the penultimate bead of row one.
Be careful not to split the thread with the needle as you pass beneath the thread bridge.
Pull the thread tight until the two beads from row two are sitting side by side.
Stitch back up the second bead of row two. This will create a loop around the thread bridge to secure the two beads in place.
Pick up one bead and stitch beneath the next available thread bridge.
Stitch back up the bead just added to secure.
Repeat in this manner until you reach the end of the row.
To start row three, pick up two beads and pass beneath the first thread bridge. Every new rows will begin with two beads.
Stitch back up the second bead to secure.
Add one bead per thread bridge for the rest of the row.
Continue stitching in this manner until complete.
