Goddess Within Necklace

1. Cut a four foot length of Miyuki nylon beading thread. String one Miyuki 6mm Bugle bead (BGL2), one Miyuki 11/0 seed bead, and one BGL2.

2. Pass back through the first BGL2 to form a loop, leaving a twelve inch tail.

3. Continue through the 11/0 and next BGL2, pull thread to secure.

4. String one BGL2 and one 11/0.

5. Pass up through the BGL2 to the left. This begins ladder stitch.

6. Pass down through the newly added BGL2.

7. String one 11/0 and one BGL2.

8. Pass down through the BGL2 to the left.

9. Pass through the newly added 11/0 and BGL2.

10. Continue in this way until there are nineteen BGL2 beads forming a large beaded crescent.

11. Working on the outer edge of the crescent continue through the next 11/0.

12. String one Miyuki 10/0 Triangle bead (TR10) and pass through the next 11/0 on the outer edge.

13. Continue in this way, adding TR10 beads between each 11/0 on the outer edge.

14. Pass down through the last BGL2 on the left side.

15. String one 11/0 and pass through the next BGL2. The newly added 11/0 will sit upright on the inner edge of the crescent.

16. Moving counter clockwise, pass through the next 11/0 along the outer edge and continue through the next BGL2.

17. String one 11/0 and pass through the previous BGL2.

18. Repeat step 16.

19. Continue in this way, adding 11/0 beads along the inner edge (eighteen in total).

20. Using the thread tail pass through all the 11/0 beads along the inner edge. Repeat with second thread tail to reinforce (do not trim theads). This completes the large beaded crescent.

21. Repeat steps 1-9 to create a medium beaded crescent with fourteen BGL2 beads.

22. String one 11/0 and pass through the next BGL2. Pass through the next 11/0 (on the outer edge) and continue through the next BGL2.

23. String one 11/0 and pass through the previous BGL2. Continue through the 11/0 (on the outer edge) and through the next BGL2.

24. Continue in this way, adding 11/0 beads along the inner edge (thirteen in total).

25. Add one TR10 between each 11/0 along the outer edge. Pass through the last BGL2 on the right side.

26. Using the thread tail pass through all the 11/0 beads along the inner edge. Repeat with second thread tail to reinforce (do not trim theads). This completes the medium beaded crescent.

27. With the thread on the left side of the large beaded crescent string one 11/0. Looking at the medium crescent, find the fifth TR10 from the left. Moving from right to left pass through the TR10. Pull thread to join the two crescents together.

28. Continue through the next seven beads along the outer edge of the medium crescent. Pass up through the next BGL2 (the second from the end).

29. Pass through the BGL2 to the right (the third from the end). Continue down through one 11/0 and TR10.

30. String one 11/0 and, returning to the large crescent, pass through the last BGL2 on the left side.

31. Weave in the thread tail following the diagrammed thread path and trim.

32. Repeat steps 27-31 to attach the right sides of the medium and large crescents.

33. Weave in the remaining thread tails and trim.

34. Repeat steps 1-9 to create a small crescent with ten BGL2 beads.

35. Repeat steps 22-24 to add nine 11/0 beads along the inner edge.

36. Add TR10 beads between the 11/0 beads along the outer edge.

37. Using the thread tail pass through all the 11/0 beads along the inner edge. Repeat with second thread tail to reinforce (do not trim theads). This completes the first small beaded crescent.

38. Repeat steps 34-37 to make three more small crescents. Orient the small crescents with the inner edge facing down.

39. Line up the last 11/0 on the left inner edge of the small cresent with the last 11/0 on the left outer edge of the medium crescent. With the thread from the first small crescent, circle through both the 11/0 beads to join together.

40. Follow the diagrammed thread path to weave in the thread tail and trim.

41. Repeat step 39 to attach the right side of the small crescent.

42. Follow the diagrammed thread path to weave in the thread tail and trim.

43. Repeat steps 39-40 to attach the second small crescent to the right side of the medium cresent.

44. Repeat step 39 and continue up through the BGL2 at the left side of the second small crescent.

45. String one 11/0 and pass through the BGL2 on the right side of the first small crescent (joining the two). Follow the diagrammed thread path to weave in the thread tail and trim.

46. On a third small crescent pass through the BGL2 on the right side and continue through one 11/0 and TR10.

47. String four 11/0 beads and pass back through the TR10 to form a loop.

48. Pass through the loop of beads to reinforce. Follow the diagrammed thread path to weave in the thread tail and trim.

49. Place the third small crescent above the first. With the remaining thread tail pass through the TR10 on the left edge of the first crescent. Continue through the next four beads and exit the third TR10.

50. Pass through the 11/0 beads along the inner edge of the third crescent.

51. Repeat steps 49 and 50. Follow the diagrammed thread path to weave in the thread tail and trim.

52. Working on the left side of the fourth crescent repeat steps 46-48.

53. Join the second and fourth small crescents by repeating steps 49-51.

54. The beaded crescents are now joined together and the centerpiece is complete.

55. Using two pairs of chain nose pliers open a 4mm jump ring.

56. Cut a nine inch piece of 2mm rolo chain. Slide the jump ring under the loop of 11/0 beads to attach the chain. Repeat on the other side of the necklace.

57. Use two 4mm jump rings to attach the clasp and soldered ring to each end of the chain.
