Fall might just be my favorite season for fashion. Layering my
favorite pair of jeans with soft and bulky layers or wool and cashmere,
scarves, ankle boots, jackets, AND jewelry. I've spotted a few key jewelry trends that I'd like to try this fall:
Pearls, pearls, pearls! The pearl necklace has emerged from its
cocoon of old-fashioned or traditional, and emerged into a wild, bright,
on-trend butterfly! Thanks to Swarovski, crystal pearls are available
in rich lustrous jewel tones as well as wild neons! I love the layered
look when it comes to pearls. Try piling on three or more strands with
any outfit. It's a vintage inspired look that is totally of the moment!
The statement necklace. Worn on a minimalist dress, an exquisite
bead embroidered collar screams Style Queen! I love seeing the
intricate patterns and designs come together in an embroidered piece.
Choose bright punchy colors to really set the mood. Wear your hair
pulled back for a look that is effortless (when we all KNOW that making
that bead embroidered collar was anything but!)
Bracelets over sleeves. OK, hear me out on this one! Every
runway this fall has featured this fun trend. It’s the killer detail
that makes all the difference. Bracelets and cuffs worn over sleeves
gained ground during fashion week, worn just above the wrist over a soft
jersey or over long knitted gloves. Extra points for bracelets with lots of embellishment and fun colors.
Try an embellished peyote stitch bracelet in bold, contrasting hues.
Perfect over those camel-colored gloves.
The statement earring. Forget the delicate studs this season.
This fall is all about the statement earring. Whether you go for
shoulder dusters, or chandeliers—choose a pair guaranteed to stop
traffic. Swinging seed bead earrings that graze the shoulders are
perfect in rich pigmented colors. Try a Swarovski crystal chandelier style with your favorite cashmere sweater T-neck for a dressed-down,
yet styled UP, look that is sure to be a hit.
Chokers! If there’s one piece of jewelry that’s taking over
fall/2016, it’s the choker. The ’90s throwback necklace has been spotted
on everyone this season. You can easily stand out from the crowd by
wearing a single band OR go for a wrapped style. It’s dainty but still
has just the right amount of edge. Perfect for taking your go-to outfit
above and beyond. Try with a slouchy V neck sweater to channel a little
90's grunge. Complete your look with tousled/bed head waves.
Remember to choose one trend at a
time. To me, clothing is a form of self-expression - there are hints
about who you are in what you wear. Have fun and try something new! I
