15/0 Delica Beads (DBS)

15/0 Delica beads (DBS) are the smallest of the four sizes produced by Miyuki. Size 15 Delicas are small, precision cut tube-shaped beads with a large hole size and flat end surfaces. The hole size of Delicas is large in proportion to the length and thickness of the bead making them perfect for use in all stitching techniques, bead embroidery, and bead weaving both on and off the loom. There are over 190 colors and finishes of DBS Delica beads. The palette has a wide range of precious metal-coated, rich opaques, and color-lined lusters.

15/0 Delicas are also available in a hexagonal cut version (DBSC). Cut 15/0 Delicas are available in over 26 deep, metallic and luster colors. Both DBS and DBSC measure 1.3mm x 1mm with a hole size of .7mm. There are approximately 350 beads per gram and 22 beads per inch. Their uniform shape and consistent size makes them a preferred choice for beaders.

15/0 Delicas can also be stitched into flat rows to create blocks of vibrant color in a bead embroidered design. When strung on C-Flex beading wire, it is easy to create a gradient transition with a monochromatic color palette, or create a bold multi-strand necklace with two to three opaque colors. Delicas can also act as a spacers between larger beads, creating a hint of space and detail in a strung necklace or bracelet.

The precisely cut ends of 15/0 Delicas nestle tightly against each other, giving any weaving or stitching project the appearance of having a flat and smooth surface. With Peyote stitch, it is easy to blend colors and create intricate patterns and geometric designs. Pair TW2012 twisted bugle beads and 15/0 Delicas to create a fringe on a Peyote stitched pendant or cuff. Delicas are also great for loomwork patterns. Their size and wide color range allows for incremental color transitions and perfect shading in a flat piece; like painting with beads, it brings a design to life.
