Tubular Brick Stitch
String an even amount of beads onto the thread, for our example we will be stitching in rows of six beads.
To create the first row, stitch through the bottom of the second bead.
Be careful not to split your thread when passing through the bead.
As you pull the thread tight, the two beads will stack side to side.
Pass through the bottom end of the third bead.
Pull the thread tight to align the bead.
Pass through the bottom end of the fourth bead and pull tight.
Repeat for all six beads.
To join the first row, stitch down through the first bead in the row.
Stitch back up through the last bead of the row.
Pick up two beads to begin row two.
Pass the needle under the thread bridge between the last bead of row one and the first bead of row one.
Detail of passing beneath the thread bridge.
Stitch back up the second bead of row two.
Pick up another bead and pass beneath the thread bridge between beads one and two of the first row.
Stitch back up the bead just added.
Continue to add beads, passing underneath the next thread bridge each time.
Stitch the sixth bead down by passing underneath the thread bridge, and back up the bead.
To stitch the second row together, pass down through the first bead of the row.
Pass underneath the thread bridge directly beneath the first bead of row two.
Pass back up through the first bead of row two.
Begin row three by picking up two beads and passing beneath the thread bridge between the first and second beads of row two.
Stitch back up the second bead of row three.
Continue adding rows until the desired length is reached.
