Spiral Stitch
Begin with about 5ft of cord. Thread on a big eye needle by opening the large slit. String on four 8/0 seed beads.
Add one 11/0 seed bead, one 3.4mm Drop bead (DP), and one more 11/0.
String back through all four 8/0 seed beads from the tail end. Pull thread to secure, forming a loop.
Add one 8/0, one 11/0, one DP, and one 11/0.
Pass through three 8/0 beads, skipping the first 8/0 in the ring.
This will form a second loop that should sit on top of the first.
Now bring the needle and thread through the most recently added 8/0 bead.
Pull thread to secure. Once tight this will lock the beads into place and pull the second loop slightly to the right.
Add another set of one 8/0, 11/0, DP, and 11/0.
String through the top three 8/0 beads.
Pull thread to secure and make sure this loop sits on top of the previously made loop.
Go through the 8/0 just added.
Pull to lock into place. The loops of beads should start to form the spiral.
Add another set of one 8/0, 11/0, DP, and 11/0.
String through the top three 8/0 beads.
Go through the 8/0 just added.
Keep working in this way. Each drop bead should appear to step up from the previous one as it spirals around.
