Ruby Zoisite is a combination of both ruby and zoisite crystals. Also known as ruby-in-zoisite, these stones were discovered in Tanzania by Tom Blevins, an English prospector, in 1949. Tanzania remains the only known place to find these stones naturally. The color of these unique stones is made up of zoisite's rich and earthy greens and ruby's rich reds, ranging from nearly a purple to red to pink. These mottled beads are smooth and round, 4mm in size.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
