Fluorite is a mineral formed in hydrothermal deposits around the world. The mineral itself is clear, but various impurities give it a wide range of colors. Indeed, fluorite is often refered to as 'the most colorful mineral in the world'. Most of the beads used in jewelry-making are rich purple or verdant green in color. These smooth and round 6mm beads are mostly green, ranging in hue from pale green to spring green, with some purple beads included.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
