Amazonite is a semi-precious stone of a lively green color. This stone gets its name from the Amazon River, where stones of a similar color have been found. Amazonite is a variety of the potassium feldspar that is commonly found in waterways in several countries around the world, including China, Libya, and the United States. These smoothed chips vary in length and width, and range from pale green to blue green, flecked with white and brown.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
