Amazonite is a semi-precious stone of a lively green color. This stone gets its name from the Amazon River, where stones of a similar color have been found. Amazonite is a variety of the potassium feldspar that is commonly found in waterways in several countries around the world, including China, Libya, and the United States. These beads are a pale green to blue-green with swirls of a soft black shade. They are a flattened pear shape, measure 12x16mm, and have a matte finish.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
