Kumihimo Basics & Beyond coveres the Japanese art form of braidmaking, a technique that dates back to the time of the samurai. These days in Japan, you'll find kumihimo used for decorative and ceremonial pulls and tassels, embellishments for clothing, and ob jime (the belt that ties a kimono shut). With the techniques presented in this book, you can make any of these things, but the focus will be on making jewelry. The projects are arranged in a skills building sequence that start with the basics and ends with more challenging projects.
